Goodbye Winston

We had a sad weekend as we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our dog and friend, Winston. We are feeling his absence in the house and miss him dearly. I rescued him from the pound and then we were lucky to have him for 8 years of our lives. He had so much personality and was such a part of our family. Instead of dwelling on the sadness of his loss, I want to post some pictures of his life as they show what a great life he had and how much he meant to us.

I like your eyes

Up until about a month ago, Eli pretty much ignored Hana. Like most guys, now that she smiles and laughes at his funny faces and jokes, he's paying a lot more attention to her. He's actually quite sweet with her. He baby talks to her and butters her up with compliments. Here they are, hanging out in Eli's bed in the morning.



In case you can't understand the first part, he says:
"I like your hands...open?" (wanting her to open her hand)

Introducing Pinky

It's only taken 4 months but I think I've finally figured out the secret to Hana falling asleep happily. The magic equation is the soother and rubbing Pinky in one hand. I think I'm going to have to pick up an extra back-up Pinky the next time I'm at Indigo.


Eli's Puppy is so worn out now and I've fixed his head about 3 times already. Half the stuffing is missing out of his head. Eli chews on the ears when he's falling asleep or needs comforting. Puppy goes to the dayhome with Eli on Fridays and we forgot him there once. She called us that night and we had to make an emergency pick up! Puppy is very well loved.



Aunty Lory has picked out both Pinky and Puppy for the kids. She has the magic touch when picking the favorite snuggly toys.

Baby bliss

For Hana one of her favorite things is standing on her feet with her fingers in her mouth. Pure baby bliss :)

Big bed

Tonight is Eli's first night in his bed. He was happy when he saw his new bed but more excited about the new lamp installed on the wall. Bed time went really smoothly and he was sleeping within 5 minutes of Brent leaving the room. If only it was always that easy!. Eli is officially a big kid now, potty trained and sleeping in a bed. I'm so proud of him!

Nap time

Eli is still in a crib but I think he's showing signs of being ready for a bed. Lately, he wants to nap anywhere except his crib. Sometimes he'll sleep in our bed, but the last few days he has slept in his old baby tent. He used this when he was 5 months old when when went to Maui. He's way too long for it and has to sleep curled up in there. Today he wanted a blanket on top to make it extra fun. I picked him up a toddler bed from Kijiji last night and am going to set it up while he's at the dayhome tomorrow. I hope he's excited about it!
