Excited

I'm sooo excited. Brent bought me tickets to Cirque du Soleil for my 30th birthday and it's finally here! We have tickets for Friday night and I can't wait. We've gone to every show that they have done in Calgary and I must say I'm very happy that they are back in the tent at the Currie Barracks. Last time it was at the Saddle Dome and it just wasn't the same (although I can't complain since I won the tickets). Jacqueline and Kyle are going the same night as us so it will be great to have some company in Le Grand Chapiteau!!

Wow! Thank you so much to everyone who brought Eli a card or gift or made us food. I did not anticipate how amazingly generous everyone has been. It really has been so touching to see how excited everyone is for a new baby. Thank You all!

Friends

I have the best girlfriends. Thanks so much to Jacqueline for putting on such a nice shower for Eli on Sunday. It was at Lake Bonavista park and was nice and casual. She did such a good job, and we got totally spoiled. WOW!!! Thanks to everyone who could make it. It was nice to see you all :)

So close to a real basement again!

Brent has been working so hard on the basement. He literally has done all the work himself, I have not helped at all! He did the demo, electrical, plumbing, painting, cabinet and counter installation and flooring (except the carpet. I really am amazed at how fast he has been able to do it all. We are waiting on trim and doors (on order), and our to do list consists of:
- finish painting play room
- order stone for fireplace (next weekend), then install it over the existing brick. Something we have never done before!
- tile backsplash
- buy pool table light - we've been looking for months and can't find one we like that isn't a small fortune!
- paint trim and doors, and install
- prime and paint bathroom

It sounds like a lot, but really, we are so close to having our basement back! I can't wait.

Walk up bar/Kitchette - we made this more functional by adding a mini dishwasher. Who wants to go upstairs to do dishes? We have a microwave as well for down here.

Off to a good start

Eli must be one lucky boy. Since he was born on June 11th, he won a free Healthpod. It's an organizer to track his health history. I saw them in a store here, but thought it was expensive. Good thing I didn't buy one! Talk about a good start to life, winning a contest the day you are born!!
