Jack Black is sexy
I just couldn't resist posting this. Sorry B! There is a running joke in our house that B doesn't like very much. He was at a party once when someone told him he looked like Jack Black. You could say he didn't take it as a compliment. So when I ran this Celebrity look a like program and Jack Black came up, lets just say I had a good chuckle. haha Oh and Cyn, check it out, Orlando Bloom too!!

One week left
This is B's last week of work. The count down is on. Starting March 1st, he's off for 5 months on parental leave. I was supposed to be going back to work right about now, but finding a job in this market has proven to be a difficult task! We are very excited to have time off as a family. It's not often that an opportunity like this comes up. Instead of being stressed about it, we've decided to enjoy it. There are so many things we want to do. I think we might invest in some bicycles. I think it's been at least 10 years since either of us has gone biking. Watch out Eli -we'll get you a super helmet since we might be a little rusty!

Going Green
B and I have been inspired by my mom. Their family has made a conscious effort to eat more vegetables, something that I know we need to do. So, as an experiment, and an effort to be more healthy, B and I are going vegetarian for the month of March. Not totally vegetarian, we're keeping fish on the menu since I get hardcore sushi cravings. It was so torturous not to eat sushi when I was pregnant that I don't see how I could possibly go without it since I'm not. If anyone has any good vegetarian recipies, or websites, I'd love the info.
Valentines day started out with pink heart shaped pancakes. They were delicious. In the evening, Mom, Michael and Ellen came over and watched Eli while we went out for dinner. We went to the zoo's In the Heat of the Night event. It was a nice dinner followed by a talk on "critter romance". The speakers were very interesting, some more than others, but let's just say I now know more about animal mating and anatomy than I ever wanted to. It was fun to get out and do something different than a resteraunt.
Today, Jacqueline, Kyle and Kosmo came over and B and I got to go out again! We headed to a movie and saw Coraline in 3D. It was a fun movie, the animation was great, but there were lots of kids there and it was quite scary. The 3D was pretty neat, I'm always amazed at how realistic the animated movies have gotten.
Thanks to everyone for coming to watch Eli and giving us a chance to get out. We totally enjoyed it.
Eli has started to pull himself up and stand. He just learned to crawl, and he's already wanting to stand. Today Brent turned around in the basement, and Eli was standing leaning with his back against the TV - not holding onto anything. Amazing!

And some fun with Dad. It's hard to hear Eli's belly laughs since we are all laughing. He loves to bounce like this! He loves all things jiggly and fast. I can't wait to get him into a swing at the park. He's so much fun these days, 8 months is as very fun age.

8 month pictures
First of all, just want to give a shout out to the Tutt Family. This was a big week for them, and we're so glad to hear it went well. We are thinking of you guys!
I attempted to take some pictures of Eli since he is 8 months old today. It was not an easy task. He was constantly moving and my camera was not cooperating. I would not have enough patience to be a photographer. It's 10 am and I'm exausted already. Anyways, here are the few that turned out OK.
Toe Sucking in the intermission:

Hanging out with Winston by the window. A favorite past time, although Winston does not always like to share his spot.
He likes to hide his toys under the chaise in the basement. I said "Eli what are you doing?" and he looked up at me like this:

Dude on the go
Eli is motoring around the house now. It was amazing to watch how quickly he went from testing out a few "steps" to full on travelling. I'm also amazed at how fast he zones in on the things he's not allowed to have (electrical cords, house plants etc). It's a whole new world of things to explore!

Grandma K comes to visit
